Gibraltar baseball heads to Coleman for regular season finale

The Gibraltar Vikings will play one more game ahead of their week layoff before the WIAA Tournament begins when they battle Coleman on the road Monday.

A day after Gibraltar was handed two losses by Oconto, they found that winning stroke in Manitowoc on Saturday as they beat Roncalli 8-2. Brady Kita had one of his best games offensively for the Vikings as he had four hits, collected an RBI, and stole two bases en route to scoring three runs. Will Friedenfels rebounded from a tough day in Oconto to register a pair of hits and three RBI thanks to a double. Marshall Maltby and Rylan Caldecott each had a pair of hits while Aaron Brey and Bennett Isaacson helped the cause with run-scoring hits.

The Cougars are a perfect 18-0 on the season winning the Marinette & Oconto Conference by four games. The team features a potent offensive lineup, scoring over 11 runs 13 times.

The game is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
