Gibraltar baseball pours it on late against Hilbert

The Gibraltar Vikings baseball team scored 10 runs across their final two frames to run away from Hilbert 13-3 in seven innings.

After trading runs in the first inning, the Vikings tacked on single tallies in the second and third innings before exploding for four in the fifth and six in the sixth.

Freshman phenom Aaron Brey led the Vikings offensively with three hits and four RBI on the afternoon.  Bennett Isaacson and Aiden Purinton each added two hits while seven players had at least one RBI.

Pitching-wise, it was a bullpen day with six different pitchers throwing no more than 1 2/3 innings. The staff allowed just one earned run and four hits while garnering nine strikeouts. It was the Vikings' first game in over a week ahead of a busy stretch that will keep them at home Tuesday against Kewaunee before heading to Mishicot on Friday and Fox Cities Stadium in Grand Chute on Saturday to face Kewaunee. NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com and 105.1 The GOAT will carry coverage for the Friday and Saturday games.
