The WBCA came out with their Girls Basketball Academic All-State list earlier in the week, and the Gibraltar Vikings had multiple players make their way onto the list. 

Chloe Alexander, Colleen Carlisle, Krista Church, Betsy Lecy, Quincy Chomeau, Pam Prescott and Andie Schar were all honored on the All-State list for the Vikings. According to Wissports.net, this is new for 2023, and requires that nominated athletes be varsity players from any grade level and hold a GPA of at least 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale).

The Vikings finished their season this year with a 4-21 record and a 2-14 Packerland conference record, but all of those players named to the All-State Academic list made big impacts to the Vikings season. Schar, Carlisle and Lecy were three of the top four scorers for the Vikings, while Alexander, Chomeau, Church and Prescott provided a mixture of everything whenever Gibraltar needed it. 

The Vikings girls basketball team this season demonstrated what it truly means to be student-athletes.
