Gibraltar girls face Oconto in rematch on U 102.1

The Gibraltar girls' basketball team will start its second go-round of the Packerland Conference on Tuesday with a home game against Oconto.

The Vikings picked up their lone wins of the season in 2023, but they currently in the middle of streak of games against the top teams in the conference. In their most recent matchup, the Vikings were victimized by Sevastopol's press defense and Libby Ash's spot on shooting from deep in a 57-12 loss. The Vikings managed just two made field goals in each half. Chloe Alexander led the way with six points while Andie Schar and Betsy Lecy added two points. Head coach Devin Thomas is still happy with the direction his squad is taking at this stage of the season.

The Blue Devils are 13-5 on the season and are amidst a three-game winning streak since dropping a pair of games to conference rivals Peshtigo and Sevastopol. In their last game, The Blue Devils had three players reach double-figures in their 62-48 win over Algoma, led by Rylie Shallow's 20 points. Addisyn Viestenz scored 13 points, and Natalie Schlueter added 12 points.

Tim Kowols and Jacob Nate will have the call on U 102.1 beginning at 7:15 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the opening tip at 7:30 p.m.
