Gibraltar boys look to bounce Sturgeon Bay on U-1021

The Gibraltar boys' basketball team will try to break a two-game losing streak when Sturgeon Bay comes to Fish Creek on Tuesday.

The Vikings took a slim lead into the break against one of the Packerland front-runners on Friday night, but Drew Daoust scored 25 of his game-high 35 points in the second half of Southern Door's 55-47 win on Friday night. The Vikings would not get closer than four points after the 9-0 run, despite Sitte and Will Friedenfels each registering six of their 15 and 11 points, respectively in the second half. Carl Burgess contributed nine points to the cause in the Vikings' loss.

The Clippers made the most of Jim Benesh's memory last Thursday in their win over the Algoma Wolves 58-35. Isaak Aune and Calvin Richard were the stars of the first half, and they continued it throughout the whole game. Aune hit two back-to-back step-back threes to officially sink the Wolves’ chances of mounting a comeback and sparking a huge run for the Clippers to get out to a 21-point lead.

Tim Kowols and Jacob Nate will have the call on U-1021 and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com beginning at 7:15 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the opening tip at 7:30 p.m.
