The Gibraltar girls basketball team hit the road on Tuesday for their first game of 2023 to play Stockbridge.

The first game of 2023 hopes to be the first win of the season for Gibraltar. They ended 2022 on a high note, posting their best offensive night of the year in a 75-57 loss to Peshtigo. Andie Schar found her groove for the first time as she returns from an injury that wiped out her volleyball season. She scored 21 points to lead the Vikings, and three others hit double-figures. The Vikings outscored the Bulldogs 34-30 in the second half. 

The Indians snapped a three-game losing streak just before break with a 36-19 win over St. Thomas Aquinas. Laurynn Ruppenthal scored 14 of those points for the Indians while their defense clamped down, limiting their opponents to just seven second-half points.
