Gibraltar boys end long break with trip to Peshtigo on U-1021

The Gibraltar boys' basketball team will hit the road for the first time in nearly a week and a half on Tuesday as they visit Peshtigo.

Thanks to scheduling quirks and a weather-related cancellation, the Vikings have not played since they lost to NEW Lutheran 79-41 on December 9th. Carl Burgess was the only Vikings player to reach double figures with 10 points. Jake Schar, who was matched up against Lynch for most of the night, registered eight points, while Braden Sitte and Nathan Merkel each pitched in six points in the loss. Head coach Travis Ward says he is happy with how his team has been playing with some big pieces missing, but they have not been able to knock down enough baskets early in games.

The Bulldogs boast a 6-1 record and a perfect 3-0 mark in the Packerland Conference. Kaine Fort scored 18 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in their 62-43 win over Oconto Falls last Saturday. Fort is leading the Bulldogs in scoring (15.9 ppg) and rebounding (13.4 rpg) through the season's first seven games.

Tim Kowols will have the call from Peshtigo on U-1021 and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com beginning at 7:15 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the opening tip at 7:30 p.m.
