A scoring drought to start the game told the story of Gibraltar's 58-40 loss to Hilbert on Monday.
Jake Schar's free throw broke an eight-minute scoreless stretch that put the Vikings down 11 points early. A Carl Burgess three-point shot at 8:31 mark was the first made field goal to make it 13-6. That would be as close the Vikings would get all night as Hilbert kept it a double-figure for much of the night, including a 31-15 advantage at halftime.
The Vikings will play Wabeno-Laona for a chance at their first win on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
