Repeated success could result in another Madison trip for Vikings

After a trip to Madison last season, the Gibraltar Vikings will look to retain that success under a new head coach.

Sam Lindenberg was the hero of the Vikings last season, winning Packerland Conference Player of the Year averaging 20 points. Alongside Lindenberg was a strong core of starters, from Will Friedenfels, Jake Schar, Victor and Angel Jauregui, and Trevor Ash. The Vikings lost 3-4 of their starters due to graduation, but have great bench pieces to fill it out.

Bela Salm, Braden Sitte, and Carl Burgess will all see their minutes grow in the backcourt. Longtime Vikings coach Travis Ward has taken over the Gibraltar Boys Basketball team after the departure of Head Coach Justin Burress.

Gibraltar will be without Will Friedenfels and Brady Kita for at least the start of the season, due to some injuries that were sustained towards the end of the fall Football season.

The Vikings will open their season on the road against the Kohler Blue Bombers. The Packerland season begins against the Kewaunee Storm on December 6th in a potential entertaining matchup in the opener.
