Gibraltar prepares for first state basketball appearance

Gibraltar Area Schools has been releasing information on how fans can support their state-bound Vikings boys' basketball team this week.

 

Starting Wednesday, students, parents, and community members wanting to sit in the Vikings section at the Kohl Center can pre-buy their tickets for $11. They can also reserve their spot on the fan bus that will take them to Madison. It will depart at 4:30 a.m. Additional details are below.

 

A Wednesday pep rally is in the works ahead of the team's Thursday departure, but no details have been released as of yet.

 

Those who cannot make the game can tune in to the broadcast on 105.1 The GOAT with Bryan Mazur, Tim Kowols, and Reece Robillard beginning at 8:30 a.m. with the pregame show followed by the opening tip at 9:05 a.m.

 

 

ILLEGAL ITEMS & RESTRICTIONS • The following items will not be allowed in the Kohl Center (all spectators and items are subject to search): o Selfie Sticks o Strollers, coolers, thermoses, bottles, cans and food and/or beverage items of any kind. o Backpacks and any bag larger than 8.5” x 11”. o Artificial noisemakers: stadium horns, cow bells, bottles with rocks in them, thunder stixs, etc. o Weapons of any kind. This includes pocket knives. o Pom poms may not have sticks attached to them. o Balloons, paper confetti, spray string, inflatables, etc. o Alcohol and/or drugs. o Large signs.(Fat heads) hand-held sign that is no larger than a piece of tag board that can be held by one person will be allowed. Signs may have tongue depresser sticks attached to them. o Laptop computers are allowed. o Laser pointers. o NO body or face paint is allowed in the Kohl Center and no face coverings of any type are permitted. o No paint stir sticks. • All spectators are expected to be clothed appropriately with faces clearly visible. • Antics involving throwing of paper airplanes or coins, etc., will result in the violator being removed from the Kohl Center. • Fans may not leave their seats to join cheerleaders on the courtside area. • Fans may not leave their seats to become involved in such things as slapping players hands during introductions, forming a tunnel for their players to run through as they enter or exit the court, etc. • Fans may not allow others to sit on their shoulders or stand on seats or railings. • Fans are NOT allowed on the floor of the Kohl Center following the completion of their game.
