The Gibraltar girls' basketball team had a huge weight lifted off their collective shoulders on Monday night, securing the first victory of the season in a 53-36 triumph over Sturgeon Bay.

The Vikings outscored the Clippers 27-14 to start the rout. Mikayla Gorham sparkled in the first half on her way to a 26 point evening for the Vikings. Andie Schar was held without a field goal in the first half but scored 10 points in the second half to keep the Clippers arm's length away from claiming the lead.

Tori Alger led the Clippers with 10 points in the defeat while three others scored at least five points.
