Vikings girls visit cross-county rival Sevastopol

The Gibraltar girls' basketball team hopes Tuesday is the night they break their season-long slump when they travel to face Sevastopol.

The  Vikings are 0-19 on the year as they have struggled to average more than 30 points per game. They lost their last game to the Sydney Lund-led Peshtigo Bulldogs 51-24. While Andie Schar leads the team in scoring with 9.5 points per game, it was Mikayla Gorham with the most points in the contest with seven points.

The Pioneers saw its three-game winning streak get snapped last week in a 36-31 loss to Algoma. One of those wins came against Gibraltar in Fish Creek. Bailey Rikkola scored 21 points to help the  Pioneers erase a four-point deficit and outscore the Vikings 40-11 in the second half.

Tuesday's game  begins at 7:30 p.m.
