The Gibraltar Vikings head west to Three Lakes Thursday night as they look to go 2-0 on the young football season.

 

The Vikings got off to a weird start last weekend, needing an almost whole 24 hours to beat White Lake/Elcho 44-22. Sam Lindenberg was the top passer (143 yards, three TDs) and top rusher (167 yards, two TDs) in the MONLPC-8 East Conference after one week as Gibraltar was one of the few teams able to play a full four quarters. What impressed Gibraltar head coach Mike Peck the most last week is something you won't find on the scoresheet.

The Blue Jays got a quarter in against Gillett, but were still able to run away with a 32-0 victory. Ashton Maney scored two touchdowns on the ground and caught another pair in the game, racking up just under 130 total yards in the game. Jared Kaufman was efficient throwing the ball, completing five passes for 107 yards and two touchdowns to Maney.
