Gibraltar football gets second crack at NEW Lutheran on 105.1 The GOAT

The Gibraltar Vikings football team hopes to not have a repeat of its opening game this season when NEW Lutheran visits Sevastopol for a second time on Friday night.

The Blazers ran all over the Vikings in week 1 as they won the game 52-22. Marshal Bukowski ran for 331 yards and three touchdowns in the game, part of a 472-yard rushing night for the Blazers. Head coach Mike Peck said mistakes made it tough getting back into the game.

The Vikings have been playing better since that opening week defeat, but they are still looking for their first win of the season. Their original opponent, Chequamegon, had to back out earlier this week due to COVID-19 protocols. Peck says his team is just excited for the opportunity to play.

Tim Kowols and Tanner Bickford will have coverage of the game on 105.1 The GOAT and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com beginning at 5:30 p.m. with the pregame show followed by kickoff at 6 p.m.
