Vikings drop squeaker to Kewaunee

The Gibraltar Vikings Volleyball team winning streak comes to an end after losing in five sets to Packerland foe, Kewaunee High School. Gibraltar would climb back into the match after dropping the first two sets by scores of 26-24 and 25-15. Gibraltar would tie the match after 25-23 and 25-21 set wins. In the deciding match, Kewaunee rallied back for a 15-11 win.


Gibraltar received a 19 kill effort from Agne Zukauskaite. She’d also add 22 digs, a pair of aces and a block. Zoe Armbuster helped with 18 assists and 11 digs. Maggie Moroney worked for 16 digs and 16 assists. Gibraltar is now 4-4 this season. Kewaunee is also .500 at 2-2. The Vikings’ next contest is on Tuesday when they face an Algoma squad in search of their first win in the alternative season. Tuesday’s match is set to begin at 6:00 P.M. in Algoma.
