When he told his team to act more like a goldfish, at least Gibraltar head basketball coach Justin Burress knew what he was talking about.

Burress was channeling his inner Ted Lasso, the character on an Apple TV show featuring Jason Sudekis that is focused on a former college football coach who takes over a Premier League soccer club. It was already a large part of his pregame talk with his team, but with a 30-point lead cut in half, Burress told Tim Kowols and Bryan Mazur postgame that Lasso came out again.

Burress says he has pulled a strong message from the show and he has brought it with him to practices and games this year after family members urged him to watch it.

Burress and his Vikings team head to Manitowoc Lutheran on Friday night for a chance at a third straight regional final appearance. 105.1 The GOAT will carry the game live beginning with the pregame show at 6:30 p.m. followed by tip off at 7 p.m.
