The wait is over for the Gibraltar boys basketball team as they open Packerland Conference play against the Kewaunee Storm on Friday night.

The Vikings return many of their contributors from last year's team, losing Brandon Stillman, Conor Duffy, Dominic Krauel, and Paul Hartmann to graduation. The team does return its top two scorers in Luke Steebs (15.4 ppg) and Sam Lindenberg (10.8 ppg). Steebs also led the Vikings in rebounds and assists. The Vikings hope to improve on their conference record from last year which was 3-13.

The Storm comes into the game 1-0 after defeating its lakeshore rival Algoma 58-38 on Tuesday.

Tip is set for 7:30 p.m. at Gibraltar.
