The Gibraltar Vikings girls' basketball team found themselves on the wrong side of a close game Monday night, falling to Peshtigo 44-42.

The seesaw battle saw the Vikings enter the second half with a slim 28-26. The Bulldogs were able to take the lead in the final moments of the game but left enough time for the Vikings to get one last shot off. Senior Karlee Kita had a great look at the buzzer for a game-winner well behind the arc, but saw the ball rim out to give the Vikings their first loss of the season.

The Vikings will have some time off before their next game on December 15th against NEW Lutheran. Their game against Kewaunee on Thursday has been postponed while a matchup scheduled against Crivitz on Saturday has been canceled.
