The Florence Bobcats scored in all three phases of the game to open a gap the Gibraltar Vikings could not close in a 54-6 loss heard on 105.1 The Viking Friday night.
Kaden Schuls scored less than 15 seconds into the game on a kickoff return for a touchdown and was quickly followed up by a touchdown run by William Liebergen. On the next drive, a screen pass from quarterback Luke Steebs went awry and ended up in the arms of Toby Wheeler who took it in for the touchdown. Steebs came back strong on the very next drive, scoring on a six yard scamper to make it 22-6. Wheeler would be a part of three more touchdown drives to lead the Bobcats to a 46-6 advantage at the break. With the running clock on, a 90 yard run by Schuls was the only points scored in the second half.
The Vikings will have a quick turnaround when the host Gillett at home on Thursday for a 7 p.m. kickoff. Tim Kowols and Jay Kita will have the call on 105.1 The Viking.
