Gibraltar's Evan Henry showed his distance prowess Friday morning in LaCrosse, breaking 10 minutes in the 3200 meter run to take fourth at the WIAA Division 3 State Track Meet in LaCrosse.
Adam Rzentkowski of Rosholt won the race in 9:37.40. Henry was averaging between 73-76 seconds per lap for the first seven loops, but found a burst of speed in the final 400 meters, running that 64 seconds. He will have about 24 hours to recuperate before he runs the final 1600 meters of his high school career.
As of 3 p.m. Friday, Abbigael Sitte is also still competing after qualifying in the 100 meter dash final tomorrow. The 4 x 100 meter relay team just missed out qualifying for its final.
