Algoma opened WIAA girls volleyball postseason play on a high note Tuesday night, sweeping Omro 3-0 to advance past the regional opening round.

The Wolves took control early with a 25-18 victory in the first set before extending their advantage with a 25-20 win in the second.

Omro made things interesting in the third, pushing Algoma to the wire in an effort to extend the match. However, the Wolves held on for a 26-24 victory to complete the sweep and secure their spot in the next round.

The victory improves Algoma to 8-24 overall, while Omro finishes its season at 10-22.
