Marinette wasted little time taking control Tuesday, scoring just 28 seconds into the match as the Marines went on to defeat Algoma 6-1.

Jackson Mahers opened the scoring for Marinette, and the Marines never trailed or let up from there. Marinette found the back of the net four times in the opening half to build a 4-1 advantage.

Algoma answered with its lone goal from Cooper Krause, who converted a penalty kick to cut the deficit to 2-1. The Wolves could not get any closer, though, as Marinette added two more goals in the second half to close out the 6-1 victory.

Algoma will have Wednesday off before returning to action Thursday at Kewaunee, its third game in four days.
