Algoma Baseball Season Comes to a Close at Brillion

The Algoma Wolves baseball season came to a close Tuesday, falling to Brillion 9-1 in regional play.

Brillion jumped on the Wolves early and never looked back, putting up five runs through three innings and cruising from there. Landon Mathes went 3-for-4 with two RBIs to lead the Lions offense, while Joe Shimek was sharp on the mound, allowing just one unearned run over seven innings.

Cal DeMeuse went 2-for-3 to lead Algoma at the plate and Jack Schwader drove in the team's only run, but the Wolves couldn't generate enough offensively to keep pace.

The season comes to a close with a 10-15 overall record and the Wolves will have to part with some impactful seniors before turning their attention to summer baseball.
