Zimmerman's no-no exclamation point in Wolves' regional title victory

The Algoma Wolves softball won their regional title game over Markesan 10-0 on Thursday, but only needed a sliver of that run support thanks to another masterful performance from senior Macie Zimmermann.

Zimmermann struck out 11 batters across five innings of no-hit ball against the Hornets, adding to her collection of similar performances in her Algoma career.

Her teammates did the work at the plate, scoring five times in the first and fifth innings to end the game early due to the mercy rule. Amya Lukes capped off the first five-spot with a RBI single while Ryley Tweedy walked off the Hornets with a single of her own. The Wolves only needed four hits to score their runs, instead feasting on three Hornets errors and eight walks. Tweedy and Lukes each had two hits and combined for three RBI.

The Wolves will play again on Tuesday when they host St. Mary's Springs at Peterson Park at 4:30 p.m.
