Algoma swept Southern Door in a doubleheader on Tuesday, winning the opener 18-5 before taking game two 4-1.
The first game got out of hand in a hurry. Algoma sent 15 batters to the plate in a massive 11-run third inning, with Dylan Seiler and Jonah Dahms each driving in three during the surge. Cal DeMeuse went 3-for-4 to lead the offense and Charlie Prokash tossed three clean innings to earn the win. Algoma finished with 12 hits and seven stolen bases. Brock Delveaux had two hits and three RBIs to lead Southern Door.
Game two was a much tighter affair. Jacob Massey was sharp for Algoma, going all seven innings and allowing just one unearned run on three hits while striking out six. Southern Door's Mac Hoffman drove in the Eagles' only run with a first inning single, but Algoma was able to scratch across enough runs to pull away 4-1.
Southern Door heads to Coleman on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. Algoma travels to Wrightstown Thursday at 4:30.
