The Algoma softball team is preparing to host Sevastopol on Thursday for a doubleheader.
The Wolves are coming off a pair of wins over Green Bay NEW Lutheran. In the first game, Madison Schneider went 3-for-3 with five RBIs, highlighted by an inside-the-park home run. Macie Zimmerman was dominant in the circle, striking out 10 and allowing just one hit over five innings.
Game two brought more of the same. Amya Lukes went 3-for-5 with an inside-the-park home run and three RBIs, while Natalie Ray went 5-for-5. Mackenzie Lischka earned the win in the circle after striking out nine over six innings.
The Pioneers are looking to bounce back after dropping a pair of games to Bonduel. Brynn Schartner hit two home runs and drove in four runs, accounting for most of Sevastopol’s offense. Leah Schopf added three hits in the losses.
First pitch is at 4:30 p.m.
