Algoma Wolves softball was on the road against the Peshtigo Bulldogs Friday and rallied to a 6-4 win behind Macie Zimmerman's seven innings of work.
Zimmerman struck out 12 and didn't allow a single earned run in the outing. She also helped her own cause drawing three walks at the plate and scoring a run.
Natalie Ray delivered twice when Algoma needed it the most, driving in four of the Wolves' six runs. She doubled in the top of the third with two outs to take the lead after falling behind 1-0 in the second. Another two out single with the bases loaded put Algoma ahead 6-1.
Trouble came in the bottom of the seventh and Peshtigo made it interesting, coming within two, but Zimmerman induced a ground ball to herself to end the inning after a two-out error extended the game.
Algoma turns around for a quick double-header against Waupun and Two Rivers at 10 and 11:30am.
