Wolves softball taking on doubleheader at Peshtigo

The Algoma softball team prepares for a doubleheader Friday at Peshtigo against the Bulldogs.

The Wolves’ last action was a doubleheader sweep of Gibraltar, winning 18-0 and 18-2. Natalie Ray, Emma DeMeuse, and Ella Severinsen each drove in three runs, while Bristol Schmidt and Amaly Lukes had two hits apiece. Macie Zimmerman recorded 11 strikeouts without allowing a hit or walk.

In Game 2, the Wolves scored in all five innings, including five in the fourth and six in the fifth to end the game early. They took advantage of eight Gibraltar errors along with 14 hits and four walks. Offensively, Emma DeMeuse’s leadoff home run in the second inning, Ella Severinsen’s two-run single, and Natalie Ray’s two-run double in the fifth highlighted the performance.

First pitch is set for 4 p.m.
