The Wolves entered Friday night's matchup needing a big win to build confidence heading into postseason play and they got it against Gibraltar on the road.
There wasn't much room for offense from the Vikings as they were held under 20 points total by the Wolves and scored only 5 points in the second half after Algoma got even better coming out of the break.
Great defense led to an explosive offense, by taking chances at shots Algoma may not have always gone for.
The Wolves were led by Jadyn Nellis with 19 points, thanks in part to knocking down five three pointers. However, Nellis wasn't alone, three Wolves eclipsed double-digit scoring as they won handily 66-17.
Algoma responded after the loss to Kohler and will see the court again Feb 16 for a huge Packerland conference matchup against Kewaunee that tips off at 7 p.m. on the Wolves' home court. Gibraltar will tip off their last game of the season against Kewaunee three days later, Feb 19 on the road at 7 p.m.
