Wolves Handle Clippers on U102.1

The Algoma Wolves had no trouble defeating the Clippers in Sturgeon Bay on Thursday night, earning a 63-48 victory.

Unlike the last time the teams met, the Wolves took control early, building a lead the Clippers could not overcome. The duo of Braeden Leist and Parker Lischka each scored in double figures in the first half to help break the game open. The Clippers struggled offensively in the first half, with Siggy Hansen the only player to make multiple baskets. That led to a 39-22 halftime advantage for Algoma.

The second half was more competitive, with Sturgeon Bay outscoring Algoma 26-24. However, both teams emptied their benches for a stretch, giving younger players valuable in-game experience as the 2026 playoffs loom just weeks away.

Leist led the Wolves with 25 points, followed by Lischka with 19. Hansen paced the Clippers with 15 points, while Sam Fruzyna added nine. Three other Clippers finished with seven points each.

The Wolves improved to 9-3 in the Packerland Conference and 14-5 overall. They will travel to Green Bay NEW Lutheran for a 2 p.m. game Saturday.

The Clippers fell to 4-8 in conference play and 9-10 overall. They will look to rebound Saturday at 2:30 p.m. on the road against Valders.
