Algoma opened Tuesday's matchup against a hot Southern Door girls basketball team by setting the tone of playing Wolves' basketball early. It showed as they picked up another win.
The Eagles, winners of three straight going into Tuesday, have averaged 53 points per game in the stretch and were held to 40. Meanwhile, Algoma was above their season average putting up 66.
Algoma had a strong first half as Sadie Rikkola lit up the three-point arc scoring 11 of her game high 17 points in the first frame along with three of five triples. In the second half, she was picked up by Lauren Loucks who finished with 16, 10 coming in the second frame.
Southern Door was paced by Kyleigh Claflin with 10.
Algoma (12-6) will break for a week in preparation to face a two-loss Kohler team Tuesday Feb 10 at home. Southern Door on the other hand will host Reedsville this Thursday at 7 p.m.
