Sheboygan Falls had an offensive punch the Algoma girls' basketball team could not handle on Tuesday as the Wolves fell to the Falcons 60-28.
The Falcons jumped out to a 32-18 lead in the first half thanks to 10 points from Lilly Gahagan and five other players scoring at least two points. Three-point shooting from the Wolves kept the game within shouting distance as the team hit five threes including three from Sadie Rikkola.
The Falcons' tightened the grip even more in the second half, allowing just 10 points and no three-pointers. Meanwhile, Sephra Martin and Mollie Schliewe combined to score 14 second-half points to add to the rout.
Gahagan (13 points), Martin (13 points), and Schliewe (12 points) all scored in double digits for the Falcons. Rikkola scored nine points and Claire Gerdmann scored six points in the Wolves' loss.
The Wolves will try to get in the W column for the first time this week when the face the Sevastopol Pioneers on the road on Thursday.
