Wolves boys bully Blue Devils

The Algoma Wolves basketball teams crossed the 80 point barrier for the first time on the young season on Thursday night, handing Oconto an 83-54 defeat in the Packerland Conference opener.

 

The Wolves jumped out to a 40-25 halftime lead thanks to Braeden Leist and Parker Lischka cashing in from the field and the stripe as they combined to score 27 points in the opening stanza. They were complemented by Charlie Prokash's trio of threes as scored 11 first-half points. They Wolves were not done there, outscoring the Bulldogs 43-29 after the break to win their second straight game to start the year.

 

Leist led all scorers with 27 points while Lischka added 24 points. Prokash ended his evening with 15 points. The Blue Devils were led by Lars Saldana's 13 points with three other players scoring at least seven points.

 

The Wolves are back in action on Tuesday when they face Peshtigo.
