Thirty-two second-quarter points by the Algoma football team were more than enough to promise a happy senior night for its players as they cruised past Suring 48-18.
Seniors Lane Cochart and Parker Lischka led the assault through the air and on the ground. Cochart piled up more than 250 total yards and three touchdowns, including 134 yards and two scores on the ground. Lischka was Cochart's primary target, grabbing three of the quarterback's five completions for 84 yards and a touchdown. He also accounted for one of the team's rushing touchdowns. Joey Cabino accounted for 77 yards and a touchdown as well. Defensively, Lischka had an interception while Cayden Neuzil and Aiden Moen each recovered a fumble, with Neuzil taking his to the house for the score.
Due to WIAA rules, the Wolves' season ended on Friday due to enrollment limits for the playoffs. They finished the campaign with a 6-2 mark, which was good for a tie with Sevastopol for second place in the Across the Bay Conference behind a perfect mark for Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas.
