A dominant week one victory over Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran (34-8) had the Algoma Wolves feeling good, but a trip to Lena/Aquinas proved to be too much to overcome as they dropped to 1-1 on the early season in a 24-0 loss.
For the Wildcats, the win counts as revenge after Algoma edged them 22-20 in their last meeting back in October 2024, and it continues their dominant start to the season — Lena/Aquinas has yet to allow a point, outscoring opponents 77-0 through two games.
The Wolves will look to bounce back September 5th when they face Gibraltar, who lost Friday evening to a strong Sevastopol team 50-0. It’s a matchup that could have Algoma back on track if they show the same offensive spark behind quarterback Lane Cochart that they displayed in week one.
