The Algoma baseball team rode a masterful performance from Charlie Prokash to a 3-1 win over Howards Grove on Thursday to advance to Tuesday's regional semifinal against Roncalli.

Down 1-0 in the third inning, the Wolves took the lead for good in the third inning when Carson Leist singled in Braeden Leist before he eventually scored on a pop out by Parker Lischka. The Wolves added insurance in the fifth inning when Carson Leist scored on a wild pitch.

Prokash did not need much help in his 6 2/3 innings, allowing one run (1 ER) on four hits while striking out 11. Carson Leist added a save to his two-hit, one RBI day at the plate. Braeden Leist, Prokash, Dylan Seiler also tallied hits win the Wolves' victory.
