Multi-sport Algoma athletes Sierra Slaby and Carson Leist made their athletic and academic futures official on Wednesday as they signed their National Letters of Intent in front of teammates, family members, and community supporters.
Slaby signed her NLI to play basketball at Aurora University in Illinois after an accomplished cross country, soccer, basketball, and softball career for the Wolves. She thanked her teammates during her remarks during the ceremony, while her basketball coach, Mark Zastrow, saluted her contributions to the team. She expressed her excitement about continuing her basketball career after signing.
Leist signed his NLI to play baseball at Concordia University Wisconsin after his success playing football, basketball, and baseball for the Wolves. He said it was an easy decision for him to pick baseball for his post-high school career.
While they have they have their post-high school careers figured, both Slaby and Leist have plenty of ball to play left for their respective teams at Algoma.
