Late Wolves softball rally sinks Marines

The Algoma Wolves softball team did all of their scoring in the sixth inning to top Marinette Thursday evening 4-1.

Brianna Adamski kept the Wolves in check through five innings, allowing no runs and no hits. Jadyn Nellis sparked the rally with an inning-starting walk before eventually loading the bases. With two outs, Natalie Ray's single helped the Wolves take the lead to drive home Sierra Slaby and Brooke Mattson. Bristol Schmidt capped off the scoring with a two-run single of her own.

Despite the lack of offense until the sixth inning, Macie Zimmerman kept things close for the Wolves to eventually take the win. Her final line was a complete game, allowing one run (0 ER) on five hits while striking out 11.

They are back in action tonight when they play Wrightstown.
