Wolves boys treat packed house to win over Storm

A standing room only crowd inside the Fulwiler Fieldhouse not only celebrated a Kewaunee family, but saw the Algoma Wolves take down the Storm in a 69-47 contest.

The Wolves fed off the energy of the crowd, jumping out to a 34-24 halftime lead and extended that lead further in the second half as they outscored the Storm 35-23.

Parker Lischka followed up his 40-point performance against Gibraltar with another fine night behind the arc, hitting four en route to a 19-point outing. Chase Romdenne paced the Wolves with 22 points, while Charlie Prokash also snuck into double figures with 11 points.

The Storm were led by Connor Kilgore, who scored 21 points on the night as he went 11-16 from the free throw line. Dane Harrell matched Kilgore's five shots made from the field en route to a 10-point evening.

Thursday's game was used as a fundraiser for the Vaughn family, a family from Kewaunee that lost their son Owen earlier this month.

The Wolves and the Storm will jump into tournament play next week with Algoma hosting Mishicot and Kewaunee doing the same for Sevastopol. The NEW Radio Sports Network will carry the Storm/Pioneers game on 104.1 WRLU beginning at 6:45 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the opening tip at 7 p.m.
