The Algoma Wolves was to be the only local boys basketball team in action on Saturday when they traveled to the Turtle School on the Oneida Nation Reservation, only to have the game cancelled.

The Wolves used a 32-7 run at the end of the game to pull away with a 70-42 win over the Sevastopol Pioneers in Packerland Conference action on Tuesday night. The lead was down to three before the Wolves put the game away with the offensive run. Braeden Leist led the Wolves with 27 points, Parker Lischka added 18 more, and Chase Romdenne scored 12.
The Thunderhawks are 4-12 on the season and are currently mired in a seven-game losing streak. Their offensive is starting to show signs of life with two games over 52 points after a stretch where they failed to score more than 40 points in five straight contests. Kingston Webster leads the team with 15.2 ppg while Davian Guitierrez averages a double-double with 10.4 ppg and 12.4 rpg.
Tip-off is set for 2:30 p.m.
