The Algoma Wolves outscored the visiting Sevastopol Pioneers 25-12 after trailing by three at the break to win Thursday's game 42-32.
Bristol Schmidt kept the Wolves in it in the first half, scoring eight of her team's high 12 points. Sierra Slaby picked up the slack in the second as she scored seven of her nine points in the decisive period. Brooke Mattson chipped in seven points, and two others registered five points. Sixteen of their 42 points came from the free-throw line.
Meanwhile, the Pioneers could not get to the charity stripe, with Brynn Schartner splitting the team's only free throws in the first half. Naomi Rikkola scored 13 points to lead the Pioneers, nine of which came in the open period. Kayla Ranly had five points a half to finish the game with 10 points, while Ella Volkmann added five points.
