The Algoma Wolves girls basketball team's record dropped to 0-2 on the young season after a 63-42 loss to Freedom on Friday.
The Wolves were down 32-20 at the half and could never close the gap against a sectional qualifier from a year ago. Sierra Slaby was the biggest threat for the Wolves as she led the team with 16 points. Six other Wolves players scored, but no one else could join Slaby in double figures. The Irish, meanwhile, had three girls crack double figures, with Abbie Cropsey nearly matching Slaby with 15 points while Ava Calhoon and Breana Dickrell each registered 11 points.
