Wolves rout Tigers on homecoming

The Algoma Wolves scored at least two touchdowns in every quarter of its 62-26 demolishing of Gillett last Friday night.

Joey Cabino got the Wolves on the scoreboard first with a 69-yard touchdown on a kickoff return to make it 6-0. The two teams would trade scores through the first two quarter until Lane Cochart took over for the Wolves. When the dust settled, Cochart threw for 135 yards on five completions for three scores and rushed for two more on 71 yards to pace the Wolves. His top target Parker Lischka also had a banner night, rushing for 100 yards and two touchdowns on five carries while hauling in a 65-yard pass from Cochart for another touchdown. Chris Zima and John Kirchman also reach the endzone for the Wolves in the rout that put them at 5-1 on the season, still a game behind Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas in the standings. The Wolves are back in action this Friday at Suring.
