The Algoma Wolves look to avenge an early season loss to the St. Mary's Catholic Zephyrs when they play in a WIAA Division 4 sectional semi-final at Gillett High School on Tuesday afternoon.  

 

The Wolves have upset three teams on the road with higher seeding, including the #1 seeded Mishicot Indians 2-0 in last Thursday's regional final.

 

The #6 Seeded Zephyrs upset Kewaunee 1-0 in the regional semi-final last Tuesday and advanced to the sectionals with a 12-2 thumping of Shiocton. 

 

Algoma Coach Jeff DeMeuse says the team has really come together this season and has come a long way over the past few years.  The Wolves seniors were freshmen when Algoma went 0-18 in 2021.

 

 

The game has been set now for 1:30 p.m. for the semi-final, with the pregame set for 1:15 p.m. on 104.1 WRLU.  Paul Schmitt and Brogan Ray will have the call of the game, which will also be streamed on NewRadioSportsNetwork.com.

 

The winner will play the winner of Bonduel and Auburndale at about 4 p.m., and that winner will have the opportunity to go to state.
