Wolves host St. Mary

The #1 Algoma Wolves (22-3) will now play host to the #4 St. Mary's Springs Ledgers (11-12) in the Division 4 Regional championship on Thursday at Peterson Park.

The Wolves took care of business on Tuesday defeating the #8 Roncalli Jets 8-1 and the #4 Ledgers defeated the Reedsville Panthers 10-0 in five innings.

Macie Zimmerman delivered a stellar performance striking out 17 batters while only allowing one run on three hits in going the distance for the complete game win.  She along with Brooke Mattson and Nora Krause had three hits to power the Wolves offense.

St. Mary’s Springs finished fourth in the Flyway Conference with an 8-6 record.  The only common opponent between the two teams is Reedsville, whom Algoma beat 11-1 at home in the first game of the season back in March.

The pregame will start at 4:15 p.m. with the first pitch scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on 104.1 WRLU.  Paul Schmitt will have the call of the game which will also be streamed on NewRadioSportsNetwork.com.
