The #1 seeded Algoma Wolves took care of business on Tuesday by downing the #8 Roncalli Jets in a Division 4 WIAA Softball Regional semi-final at Peterson Park.
Algoma jumped out in the first inning with two runs and never looked back. Macie Zimmerman delivered a stellar performance striking out 17 while only allowing one run on three hits in going the distance for the complete game win. Watch the final strikeout by Zimmerman here.
At the plate, Zimmerman helped her cause going 3x3 with two doubles and two RBIs. Brooke Mattson and Nora Krause added three hits apiece for the Wolves attack.
Roncalli’s Gretchen Kapic took the loss allowing 11 hits and seven earned runs in six innings.
Algoma (22-3) will now play host to #4 St. Mary's Springs in the Division 4 regional championship on Thursday at Peterson Park.
