Wolves boys drop title game to Resorters

A first-half dry spell doomed the championship hopes for the Algoma Wolves' boys basketball team on Friday as they lost to the tournament host Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah 47-39.

The Wolves scored five of the first seven points in the contest, but they would be outscored 22-7 the rest of the half, including an 11-minute stretch where they could not make a basket. They would make a game of it in the second half thanks to their success behind the arc with four made three-pointers. The Resorters would ward off the Wolves' advances, allowing their visitors to get within six points but no more. A pack of Wolves contributed to the scoring, led Chase Romdenne's 14 points, followed by six points a piece from Jack Cole and Braeden Leist. Brody Feldmann scored a game-high 23 points for the champion Resorters with 17 points added on from Ashton Thuecks.
