Wolves girls wrap up Bulldogs for birthday present

Algoma head coach Mark Zastrow got what he wanted for his birthday: a 51-28 bounce-back victory over Peshtigo on Thursday night.

The Wolves never let the Bulldogs in the game as they dominated the first half, taking a 29-8 lead into the break. A big reason why is how often the Wolves got to the free-throw line, as they made 12 of 19 in the first half. They would make 24 of their 35 free throws on the evening. The scoring was balanced up and down the line-up, with Ryley Zimmerman finishing her day with 12 points, Jaydn Nellis adding 11 points, Brooke Mattson contributing eight points, and Therese Gerdmann chipping seven. Maysen Brissette and Shamla Boettcher led the Bulldogs with eight points, and Jaycee Mullins chipped in four in the loss.
