Algoma girls prepare for dogfight against Peshtigo

The Algoma girls' basketball team hopes to be rewarded for their hard work so far this season when they host the Peshtigo Bulldogs on Thursday night.

 

The Wolves are 1-4 on the year thanks in part to a gauntlet of tough games against state participants from a year ago (Mishicot and Freedom and its loss to current Packerland Conference leaders Oconto last Friday night 45-32. The two teams were tied at 16 at the break thanks to three three-pointers from the Wolves' Jaydn Nellis and seven points from the Blue Devils' Addisyn Viestenz in the opening frame. Nellis ended her night with 15 points for the Wolves, while Slaby pitched in eight points. 

 

The Bulldogs are 0-5 on the year, failing to score 30 points in four contests. Holly Pesch leads the offensively challenged team with under nine points per game. The Bulldogs lost to Bonduel 63-24 earlier this week.

 

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
