You can't accuse the Algoma Wolves of dodging tough competition to start their season as they prepare to face sectional finalist Freedom on Thursday night.
The Wolves were led by Rylee Zimmerman, who finished with 10 points, scoring almost half of the team's points in a 45-22 loss to regional champion Bonduel on Tuesday.
The Irish won the North Eastern Conference with a perfect 18-0 mark and a 26-2 overall mark. They were two points away from a trip to the Resch Center for the state tournament, losing to Kewaskum 48-46 in the sectional final. They will have to try to find similar success this year without their top three scorers after they all graduated.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
